Field work on Antikythera Island

Field work in the frame of the Action C3 (Creation of “refueling oases” for migratory passerines on Antikythera Island) reaches its peak at this time. The staff of Hellenic Ornithological Society with valuable help of volunteers of the Antikythera Ornithological Station form the farm area according to the preferences of migratory birds! In addition to tree planting and sowing of cereals and legumes, field work aims at strengthening the existing trees, maintaining the terraces and creating of hedgerows.

At the same time Action D1 concerning the scientific monitoring to assess the effectiveness of the concrete conservation actions is being implemented.
