LIFE+ is the EU’s financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU. The general objective of LIFE+ is to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental policy and legislation, including the integration of environment into other policies, thereby contributing to the promotion of sustainable development. Through LIFE+ measures and projects with a European added value for Member States are financed.
This specific LIFE project is implemented under the component LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity, which aims to contribute, through co-financing best practice or demonstration projects, to the implementation of EU policy and legislation on nature and biodiversity particularly in relation to Birds Directive 79/409/EEC and Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC and to support further development and implementation of the Natura 2000 network.
