Plagara -the female Eleonora’s falcon from Antikythera Island- after three months of staying in Madagascar, decided to begin the long return journey on March 31st, by crossing the Mozambique Canal. It took her 20 hours of flight to cover the distance of about 700 kilometers between Madagascar and Africa. Her departure is much earlier than in the past year (23/04), and under smooth conditions, she will need about 15 days to get back to the Aegean. We will be ready to welcome her to the cliffs of Antikythera Island, where she was born and where she chooses every year to make her nest.
