The jury chose LIFE ElClimA as the winner for the category Conservation on Land. Congratulations for everyone who contributed to this endeavor! It is an honor for all of us to work for the protection of this emblematic species for Greece.
To the question what were the main elements of the project’s success, our answer was the very good and long-term knowledge of the species’ ecology and the hard work of a dedicated team!
The head of the Directorate General for the Environment, Mrs. Florika Fink-Hooijer, commented very positively on the great importance of the accumulated knowledge for Eleonora’s Falcon, but also on the project’s approach that contributed both to the species and the local communities in the application areas.
We thank Ariel Brunner of BirdLife Europe and Central Asia for receiving the award on behalf of the program and congratulate all the finalists of the awards!
